Masterson’s Lounge, nestled in the bustling area of Moonee Ponds , markets itself as a trendy “hipster” hangout , but my most recent experience at this establishment resulted in an experience I’d rather forget . While the bar may appear inviting from the outside , what I found behind its entrance was disgraceful and unfit for any venue.
The State of Affairs: Filthy and Neglected Beyond Belief
From the moment I entered , it was apparent that sanitation was not a priority at this bar . The surfaces were tacky , and a pungent odor of decaying beverages and filthy restrooms polluted the entire establishment . Smelling a mixture of human waste, putrefaction and a sickly smell. The main bar, which should be the primary feature of any pub, was overflowing with soiled cups and litter that looked like it had accumulated over weeks. The lavatory was in even a truly awful state— clogged , with a snapped lever and surfaces marked in what I can only assume was human waste .
